I have spent today meeting various people in the constituency to discuss planning concerns. I know that there is a strong sense of feeling about the proposed development at Riverside Close so I went to meet Susan Heron, the planning officer at Broxtowe Borough Council, to discuss my concerns. I was pleased to learn that the application has now been sent back to the developers for amendments and I hope that the issues will be properly addressed. Susan Heron is also the planning officer for the East of Coventry Lane housing proposal.
Later on I met with James McDonald and Paul Heery, from the White Hills Park Trust, who are planning to build a state of the art school as part of the East of Coventry Lane development. This development will also provide nearly 500 new and affordable houses in our area and I do back this proposal. I strongly urge Broxtowe Borough Council to grant final approval for the plan in order to prevent any potential delays due to minor alterations.
