This morning I attended the Rolls-Royce National Apprenticeship Week Reception. I was delighted to meet with one of my constituents, Alex, who is an Engineering Degree Apprentice from Rolls-Royce Submarines. Alex told me about the work he has undertaken in this role and the valuable skills that he has learned. He hopes to graduate with both a degree and vital industry experience.
Following this event I met with Secretary of State for Education, the Rt Hon Gillian Keegan MP. I raised the importance of establishing further education opportunities in Broxtowe, such as the Arthur Mee Centre in Stapleford, becoming a hub for apprenticeships.
