Earlier this week I was on ITV News Central with Aaron and Tim, once again making the case for a change in the law, ensuring that parents like Aaron do not find themselves unable to access shared parental leave following the sad passing of his wife Bernadette during childbirth.
Having raised this with the Prime Minister and met with the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State to make the case for change, I am looking forward to progressing this issue shortly in the House of Commons by introducing a 10 Minute Rule Bill.
Since the programme has aired, I have been touched by those who have reached out to share similar stories, demonstrating that we must have this important change to our legislation on shared parental leave.
