Today my constituent, Aaron, and I met with the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Minister Hollinrake. Aaron’s wife, Bernadette, passed away whilst giving birth to their beautiful baby, Tim. However, owing to a gap in the law Aaron found himself not entitled to leave.
We discussed the need for the law to change and ensure that parents such as Aaron do not find themselves in a position where they cannot access shared parental leave. I will continue to raise this important issue in Parliament and campaign for this vital change
