Earlier today I attended my third evidence session as a member of the Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Select Committee.
I asked the panel of witnesses what they thought needed to be done to address the issue of quality and oversight of accommodation exempt from caps on rents chargeable to those receiving housing benefit under Local Housing Allowance and Local Reference Rents. We must ensure that hostels and boarding houses, for example, across the UK are fit for purpose.
