Ahead of the Spring Statement there are a number of things both myself and my constituents in Broxtowe will be looking for the Government to address. The topics below have been highlighted by my constituents as the most important to them, and are therefore the ones I will be focussing on:
• The first of these is fuel costs. As fuel costs throughout the country continue to rise it is vital that measures are put in place to ensure that specifically those that use their car for work or care purposes are comfortably able to do so.
• Rising energy Bills have been on all of our minds over the last few weeks, I will be looking at what further measures the Government are going to put in place to help lower income households, who are in the most need of support.
• I have always pushed for greater Mental Health funding. Over the last few years our need for greater mental health support has never been more important, so I will be looking out for an increase today. • Through the Pandemic our local businesses were hit incredibly hard. Tomorrow I will be looking at how the Government will continue to support particularly small businesses who are still feeling the effects of the pandemic.
