Darren is thrilled to have been elected as the Co-Chair of the Midlands Engine All Party Parliamentary Group.
The Midlands Engine partnership brings together public sector partners and businesses to complement the activity of local and combined authorities, LEPs, universities, businesses and others. It is generating added value for the whole of the Midlands, its communities and the wider UK by bringing a collective voice from our region.
As Co-Chair of the APPG, Darren will be working closely with the Midlands Engine to ensure that the region is represented in Parliament and, importantly, not forgotten in the national recovery.
Speaking of his election, Darren said ‘I am looking forward to working with MPs across the House to ensure that the Midlands Engine’s ambitions are championed in Parliament. This is an important step for ensuring regional growth and – as I have always made clear – I intend to work hard to ensure the East Midlands in particular is not overlooked’.
