Broxtowe Borough Council have invited residents to take part in ‘virtual’ VE Day celebrations www.broxtowe.gov.uk/veday75.
We might have to stay at home at the moment but that does not mean we cannot still mark this momentous occasion.
At 11am, The Royal British Legion are encouraging people across all generations and communities in Broxtowe to take part in a national moment of Remembrance and pause for a Two Minute Silence to honour the service and sacrifice of the Second World War generation and reflect on the devastating impact Covid-19 has had on so many lives across the world.
At 3.00pm there will be a Nations Toast To The Heroes Of World War II.
At 9pm I plan to finish my day by joining the UK-wide singalong to Vera Lynn’s ‘We’ll Meet Again. https://youtu.be/T5C4meGkNyc
