The Remembrance Period has started!
It is a time of year that we stop and remember those who fought for the freedom that we are able to enjoy today.
Every poppy bought helps The Royal British Legion continue their vital work supporting serving and ex-serving men and women, and their families.
Over the weekend I attended the Eastwood & District Branch of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal launch. It was a great to come together with many other Veterans to kick off fundraising with music from Eastwood Collieries' Male Voice Choir, Seaforth Highlanders Pipes & Drums and a display of vintage military vehicles.
However, that was just the start of the Remembrance Period, I visited the Bramcote Crematorium to witness the unveiling of their poppy memorial. You are able to dedicate a card to a loved one which can be laminated and put next to a poppy.
I am going to be attending many other similar events in the coming weeks. If you would like to commemorate the Remembrance Period make sure to keep an eye out for the many events going on in Broxtowe.
Alternatively, The Royal British Legion have many ways in which you can fundraise during this period - for more information please see the link to their website below:

We will remember them.
