It is vital that the public transport structures we have in place in Broxtowe facilitate accessibility for all!
That is why I lobbied the Treasury for appropriate funding as soon as I was elected which led in 2020 to the Chancellor announcing, in the Spring Budget Statement that year, that Beeston Station was to be awarded money in the Government’s ‘Access for All’ scheme, Beeston had not previously been part of the scheme.
The new design is being drawn up and I will be continuing the regular dialogue I have maintained all the way through with East Midlands Railway, Network Rail and Friends of Beeston Station to bring this project into fruition.
The improved Station access is sure to have a positive impact on many in our community and I will continue to ensure this project is designed and delivered in accordance with the voices of local people.
