I am deeply saddened to learn of the impending closure of Wilko stores in Kimberley and Beeston. These shops are vital hubs in our community, providing jobs and essential services. I recently went shopping in Beeston and spoke to the manager, Jim. Jim has been at Wilko for over twenty years and yet his only concern was for the futures of his staff.
I am grateful for the sincere efforts of the administrators in their attempts to salvage the business and their continued correspondence with me throughout this process. We must now work together to support affected employees and explore avenues for future growth.
