One of my proudest achievements as your MP was to secure the ‘Access for All’ funding at Beeston Station. This funding will mean the Station is more easily accessible for those with disabilities, as well as those with bikes and push chairs.
I do not now want our Station to go backwards. I have been concerned to read proposals about potential changes to staffing at Beeston Station. A consultation is currently underway to find out exactly how local people feel about proposed changes. I was very pleased today that the consultation has been extended until 1st September 2023.
I have an urgent meeting with East Midlands Railway (EMR) this week in order to ask the questions my constituents have raised with me. I will be looking for EMR to further assure me that they will be ensuring the community, our local representatives and disability organisations are being consulted on any proposed changes.
