It is National Apprenticeship Week! It is clear that University is not the right path for everyone and I am keen to see further apprenticeship opportunities in Broxtowe.
It was announced in the summer that Nottingham College has been successful in attracting a grant for funding which will unlock investment totalling £5 million in its provision for Students with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities (SLDD). This has meant students will be moving from the Arthur Mee Centre, on to a new site in Basford.
I have been proud over the last few months to have begun talks pushing for the Arthur Mee Centre to become an Apprenticeship Hub within Stapleford. I have conducted meetings to this effect with: Ministers, Broxtowe Borough Council, Local Universities, Schools, Nottingham College as well as local business owners.
The picture below is from my first meeting on the future of the Arthur Mee Centre in June 2022. I look forward to further discussions this week.
I will continue to push for this project to ensure that Apprenticeship opportunities continue to grow within Broxtowe and we create further opportunities for all. #Broxtowe #NationalApprenticeshipWeek
