I met with Sir John Whittingdale MP, Minister of State for Media, Tourism and Creative Industries to discuss local radio. I shared mine and my constituents’ concerns regarding the increase in sharing programming across BBC Local Radio.
Many of my constituents rely on BBC Radio Nottingham to be informed of local issues, such as the recent flooding. It is important people can tune into programmes with the knowledge they will listen to things relevant to their local area. It was a useful meeting and I will continue to press the Government on protecting the output of our local stations.
