I was fortunate to attend a talk from the Steven Gerrard Academy at Broxtowe Borough Council. On Pete Scott and the Stapleford Football Club’s initiative, they are working towards hosting the Academy at the new Community Pavilion which is being built as part of the Government funded Stapleford Towns Fund.
The Steven Gerrard Academy provide UEFA licensed coaching on top of accredited qualifications. This will help towards our Towns Fund goal of youth provision and will bring Further Education and skills back to Broxtowe. The Academy with courses such as Sports Psychology, Nutrition, Media and Communications as well as you would expect, coaching and football development will be brilliant for our young people.
This project has the potential for major collaboration between Broxtowe Borough Council, Stapleford Town Football Club, Notts County Football Club and I am incredibly excited at the prospect.
